It looks like the royal baby is finally on the way! Kate Middleton has been admitted to St. Mary’s Hospital in London, according to the Palace.

The world has been captivated by Prince William and Kate Middleton, more formally the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, through love, marriage and now the imminent baby carriage.

Kate’s pregnancy has kept royal watchers enthralled and on the edge of their seats since the beginning of July because of her supposed mid-July due date. The media have been camped out in front of the hospital since the beginning of the month and now that Kate is in the hospital, we’ll bring you live updates on any developments.

When the baby is born, regardless of its gender, it will be the third in line to the throne after father Prince William and grandfather Prince Charles. Under plans to change the rules of succession, if the baby is a girl, she will make history as the first girl to keep her place in line even if she later has a brother. The baby will be the queen’s third great-grandchild.
