Mother found 'barely moving' after she's mauled by pack of five pit bulls while protecting young daughter

A 27-year-old Florida mother was mauled by a pack of dogs Sunday night, and sustained heavy injuries while shielding her young daughter.

Brandy Bookamer suffered 'heavy' puncture wounds an lacerations after the attack, according to the Flagler County Sheriff's Office.

She was 'barely moving' by the time help finally arrived.

Authorities said Bookamer was protecting her daughter, 6, from the dog's attack

The attack came when Bookamer was walking with her daughter, 6, near her Holly Lane home at approximately 8 p.m., authorities told My Fox Orlando.

As Bookamer protected her daughter from the dogs she told her to run back home.

The girl was uninjured.

The dogs, thought to be pit bulls, have been seized by Animal Control.

Residents said they'd been fearful of out-of-control dogs in the area as there is a nearby park when many families play

Bookamer is expected to survive though her exact condition has not been released

Bookamer was taken to Halifax Health Medical Center in Daytona Beach.

Her daughter is staying with her grandparents, WKMG reported.

Police said her wounds were not life threatening but her condition has not been released.
