It is a cautionary tale for our times and a warning about the power of social media websites.

If you are going to exchange a series of flirtatious Facebook messages with young women then it would be best if your girlfriend did not read them as well.

But that is what happened when Matt Hado, 22, went on holiday on the party island of Ibiza.

Angela Archbold took revenge on her 'cheating boyfriend' Matt Hado by hacking into his Facebook account and re-posting cringeworthy messages he had allegedly sent to other women

Angela Archbold took revenge on her 'cheating boyfriend' Matt Hado by hacking into his Facebook account and re-posting cringeworthy messages he had allegedly sent to other women

After reading some allegedly salacious messages her boyfriend posted to a number of revellers his furious girlfriend, Angela Archbold, 22, decided to exact her revenge.

She hacked into his Facebook account and published the embarrassing exchanges for all to see.

And for good measure she changed his profile picture to one of a rodent -  and branded him a ‘loverat.’

The resulting fall-out led to his Facebook page going viral on the internet.

Thousands of users have logged in to condemn him for his alleged two-timing behaviour and praise his former girlfriend.

One said: ‘Check out this guys page! Hilarious!! His GF found him cheating an published the lot on his Facebook! PhahHahHahahaha!

Another wrote: ‘Omg what an absolute creep! Good for you, what a complete s***b*g!’

However, others have criticised Miss Archbold for her actions.

Last night Miss Archbold, 23, a glamour model, said she re-posted the cringeworthy messages to exact revenge for his cheating.

Angela, who claims to have done topless modelling for Zoo and Maxim magazines, says revenge is 'sweet'

The aspiring model said: ‘It’s all about girl power. Us girls need to stick together.

‘It is disgusting how some men treat women. I am not standing for it. I don’t regret what I have done for a second.

‘Revenge has been sweet. I have even changed his password so he can’t remove the page.

‘It’s much better than sitting around moping.

‘I want to show other women they can be strong and don’t have to put up with this behaviour from men.’

Miss Archbold, who also claims to have done topless modelling for Zoo and Maxim magazines, said she is keen to pursue it as a career.

She describes herself on her portfolio as: ‘Very professional, one of the most down to earth people you will ever meet.’

She said Mr Hado, who flew out to the holiday island with his mother and cousin on Tuesday last week, had promised to call her every day but when this didn’t happen she grew suspicious.

She added: ‘Call it women’s instinct but I just knew something was up. I hacked into his Facebook account last week and my worst fears were confirmed.

‘I was shocked at first, I didn’t know what to do. I spoke to Matt on the phone and he made pathetic excuses.

‘I stewed for a few days and then I decided to take revenge. Some of the messages were so cringeworthy, I knew he would be embarrassed and humiliated when everyone saw them.

‘It’s not fair what he did. He told me he loved me. I have a little girl who is only eight months old, and they had grown close.

‘Since I did what I did I have had lots of girls messaging me for advice about their cheating boyfriends.’

She says that Mr Hado, of Liverpool, reacted with venom yesterday when he realised what his girlfriend had done the night before.

He called her and begged her to remove the page, she claims, but she says she told him: ‘That is not going to happen.’

She claims he has retaliated by creating a new Facebook page and posting hurtful comments about her looks.

She said: ‘I am sensitive about my ears as I was bullied about them when I was younger and he has posted horrible things about me looking like Dumbo.

‘I have also suffered with my skin and he has written nasty things about that too.

‘I will be incredibly careful when it comes to dating men in the future. I trusted Matt but I was wrong. After this I am not sure if anyone will dare cheat on me again.’
