One wedding photographer almost ruined the happy couple's big day when his quadcopter smashed at full speed into the groom's head during a photo-shoot.

The photographer who goes by the moniker of WeddingMan123 on his YouTube channel, posted the video after the bride and groom requested he do so last week.

The crash happened when the snapper was attempting to use a DJI Phantom quadcopter equipped with a GoPro camera to get an aerial shot of the pair and caused the groom to suffer a cut eye and cheek.

Luckily, the photo-shoot was two days before the actual ceremony which allowed the groom's wound to heal and the wedding proceeded without any further quadcopter incidents.

'This was two days before the wedding at their bridal shoot,' WeddingMan123 wrote on YouTube.

'This happened towards the beginning. I had done one successful fly by and I brought it around for another pass to make sure it was smooth.

'I underestimated the lift time and it hit the groom on the side of the face. He had a cut on his cheek and and the side of his head.

'I felt horrible. Luckily the bride and groom were able to laugh about it after and we continued the shoot.'

WeddingMan123 said the bride and groom were ok with him posting the video on YouTube: 'I have decided to own up to what I did, instead of trying to hide it from the world.'
