LISA Edelstein is joining the cast of Castle.

The actress — who appeared on House for eight seasons, and has also starred in The Good Wife, Elementary, House of Lies and Scandal — will bring her talents to the sixth season of the hit show.

Edelstein will enjoy a multiple-episode arc as Rachel McCord, a no-nonsense federal investigator.

Edelstein’s character, who will appear in the season premiere, will be crucial to Kate’s (Stana Katic) decision about her future.

In the Season 5 finale, Rick (Nathan Fillion) asked Kate to marry him around the same time that she was contemplating relocating to Washington D.C. to work for the U.S. attorney general’s office.

Season 6 of Castle debuts this fall on ABC.

Lisa was previously asked if she would like to produce a series that she’s also the lead of.

I don’t care if I’m the star. I really like to be part of an ensemble. Hugh [Laurie]‘s life is extremely limited by those 14-hour days, and to add producing on top of that is a big task. I more just want to use my brain as much as I possibly can.
