She's worked hard to regain her fabulous figure after admitting she struggled to control her weight as she got older.

And while Emma Forbes showcased her youthful physique as she hit the beach in Barbados on Friday, her choice of strapless bandeau swimsuit did little to disguise her unfortunate tan lines as she soaked up the sun on the picture-perfect Caribbean island.

Having fallen victim to the sun's harsh rays, the 48-year-old TV presenter displayed white strap marks as she showed off her enviably slim figure in the sexy one-piece.

But in spite of suffering a beach faux pas in the form of visible tan lines, the television star looked the picture of youthful radiance as she headed into the sea with her 17-year-old daughter, Lily.

Emma has been in Barbados for the past week, where she is enjoying her annual Christmas holiday with Lily, husband of 26 years Graham Clempson and son Sam, 14, with the family staying at the exclusive Sandy Lane Hotel, the favourite retreat of the stars.

Perhaps keen to avoid a repeat of the unsightly white strap marks she was sporting on her chest, the star covered up her bottom half with a pretty pink sarong as she soaked up the sun on the beach.

Emma has previously spoken of the struggles she has faced in terms of trying to maintain her svelte figure as she's got older, admitting a combination of sticking to a clean diet and adhering to an exercise plan work wonders for her.

She previously told the Mail: 'I don’t own scales and I never weigh myself, but my clothes were getting tight. Extra fat clung to my tummy, my back and my bottom. I was definitely losing my shape — and I hated it.

'In my 20s and 30s, I never had to think about my weight and, if I did put on a little, I could drop 2lb in a day by cutting back. But your metabolism really changes as you age.

'I loathe exercise, but I realised the only way to get toned was to get myself into the gym. I’m very disciplined.

'I have three, one-hour sessions a week when I do everything from stomach crunches to weight lifting.

'I also have a treadmill in my spare bedroom which I use to burn calories and tone my body. The adrenalin rush is amazing. I power-walk three miles a couple of times a week - really pounding away. I walk as fast as I used to run. I also try to walk everywhere instead of getting in a cab.'
