CCTV footage has emerged showing the horrific moment a crazed driver ploughed into tourists on California's Venice Beach, killing a bride on honeymoon.

The driver deliberately rammed his powerful Dodge Avenger into a crowd of tourists at speeds of up to 100km per hour, injuring 11 people, including new bride Alice Gruppioni.

Security footage shows the man parking at the popular LA haunt before watchng the scene for several minutes.

He then climbs back into his car and sped into the crowd, scattering terrified pedestrians.

The film shows shocked bystanders rushing to the scene of the carnage, which unfolded at the world famous beach on Saturday evening.

Miss Gruppioni, 32, was rushed to hospital after the incident but died a few hours later with her new husband by her side.

Another victim is critical, two are in serious condition in hospital while eight are being treated for less serious injuries.

A 38-year-old man has been charged with murder and is being held on $1m bail.
